Membership and Outreach
The community of Old First is continually renewed by new members. The efforts to provide outreach, and ongoing follow up with our new members is yet another primary responsibility of the Community Building Committtee (CBC).
At the core of our efforts to connect with newcomers in our midst is the congregation, and the journey that all of us are on to reach out and tell the world what we believe. An active faith life is often demonstrated simply at Coffee Hour by taking an interest in the visitors in our midst, and listening to their stories. The hospitality that is so often front and center in the scriptures is a guide to how we can live out our lives in an inclusive and welcoming embrace, to focus on membership outreach.
Aside from our reliance on the membership for their efforts, there are certain regular activities taken on such as: membership classes offered several times a year, maintenance and development of our website oldfirst.org, invitations to our visitors to attend events in the life of the church, and membership data.
