Our Pastor
The Reverend Maggi Henderson graduated from the University of Oregon and has a Masters of Divinity from Union Theological Seminary and a Masters of Christian Education from the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond, Virginia. She has served congregations in Austin, Texas, Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Conyers, Georgia. Maggi also served as the Dean of Students and Vice President of Student Services at Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Georgia. She has been a keynote speaker and preacher for various regional and national youth and college events.
She is committed to the Presbyterian Church USA and working with local church leaders seeking to be a witness to God's beloved community in the urban center.
Maggi was born in Oakland, CA and is thankful to be back in her home state and serving Old First since the fall of 2007. She is engaged in shepherding Old First into a community of all God's people who strive to grow in faith and action and are committed to being a witness to Christ's love and justice in San Francisco.
In her personal time Maggi enjoys time with friends, cooking, hiking, reading, travel, and exploring and enjoying San Francisco.
